Privacy policy
The short version: Dropit collects no personal data. It reads the pages you visit only to spot a clothing checkout and the price shown, and it does that entirely inside your browser. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else. The few things it remembers are stored on your device and are deleted when you uninstall it.
Who we are
Dropit is a Chrome browser extension that adds a pause before you buy clothes online and shows what that money could grow to if invested. This policy explains what the extension does with information. It applies to the Dropit extension and to this website.
What the extension reads
To work on any clothing store, including small independent shops, Dropit runs a content script on the http and https pages you visit. On those pages it looks at:
- The page address (URL) and site name, to recognize known fashion stores and cart or checkout pages.
- Page content such as the title, main heading, breadcrumbs and standard product data (schema.org), to recognize clothing.
- The text of buttons you click, to recognize actions like “Add to cart”, “Buy now”, “Checkout” or their Spanish equivalents.
- The price displayed on the page, so the pop-up can show it.
All of this is processed locally, in your browser, at the moment you are on the page. It is not recorded, logged, or kept as browsing history, and it never leaves your device. Dropit does not read what you type into forms, and never reads passwords or payment details.
What the extension stores
Dropit stores a small amount of information on your device only, using Chrome’s local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) and, for short-lived cooldowns, the browser’s local session storage:

These items are not linked to your identity, contain no browsing history, and are never transmitted anywhere.
What we collect, share or sell
Nothing. Dropit makes no network requests. It has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. We do not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share any user data, and we do not transfer it to third parties for any purpose, including advertising, credit decisions, or data brokering.
Third parties
Dropit includes no third-party services, SDKs, or libraries that receive data. This website also uses no analytics, cookies, or external scripts. Your web host may keep standard server access logs for this website; those are not connected to the extension.
Remote code
Dropit does not download or run remote code. All of its code is included in the package reviewed and published through the Chrome Web Store.
Permissions
- storage — to save your settings and personal tallies on your device.
- Content script on http/https pages — to detect clothing checkout moments on any store, since shoppers use countless independent sites that can’t be listed in advance. The script does nothing on pages that aren’t clothing checkouts.
How to delete your data
- Uninstall Dropit (right-click the icon → “Remove from Chrome”, or visit
chrome://extensions). Chrome deletes all of Dropit’s stored data automatically. - To clear the data but keep the extension, remove and reinstall it from
chrome://extensions. Cooldown timestamps also clear on their own when you close the tab.
Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete or export on our side.
Children
Dropit is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Limited Use
The use of information received from the pages you visit by the Dropit extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide Dropit’s single purpose — pausing clothing purchases and showing an illustration of what the money could grow to — and for no other purpose.
Not financial advice
The growth figures Dropit shows are simple illustrations (7% per year for 10 years). They are not a prediction, a recommendation, or financial advice.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. If a change ever meant collecting or sharing data, we would describe it clearly here and in the Chrome Web Store listing before it took effect, and ask for your consent where required.
